City Streets

I notice her standing on the corner
Eyes shining
In the crisp august sun
I think she looks so alone there
Eyes lying
Cause winters almost begun

I see the lone man sitting there
Barely existing
As traffic passes over head
I wonder if he belongs somewhere
More fitting
And if he'll see it before he’s dead

I'm awed by her modern beauty
Well dressed
As she dominates the street
I find she displays her booty
No respect
Making her beauty cheap

I discover my reflection in glass
So alone
As I make my way through town
It disappears as I pass
Heading home
To etch these words down
